A journey to discover a world halfway between art and science - THE RATIONALISM - GIUSEPPE TERRAGNI

The maximum expression of Italian rationalism can be considered GIUSEPPE TERRAGNI, born in Meda. One of the most important works is represented by 'Asilo Sant'Elia" of Como. An architecture characterized from free and large volumes, a lot of brightness and the characteristic ratio structure/volume. The idea is that of a modern kindergarten, providing a environment open to the game and connected directly to the green. The plant is was deliberately placed in the working-class districts of Como. Fumagalli 1891 with this journey into the Rationalism decided to honor him with this scarf. Made in Como with selected soft wool, this scarf is characterized by its simplicity and his geometric shapes.

historical collection

It was 1891 when Fumagalli tooks its first steps into the world of fashion, art, prints and fabrics. Every design, trial or project developed over these 150 years has been catalogued and archived in our archive, from which every time we approach a new collection we draw inspiration, ideas and drawings. The Historical Collection was born from the need not only to take inspiration from the archives, but to share them with all Fumagalli lovers through these scarves. All the products of the historical collection are characterized by the presence inside the print of a 3x5 cm scroll on which are printed the identification number of the archival design and the year in which this design was taken.

EXCLUSIVE FINISHING

On these scarves was used the exclusive and unique finishing system "hydro soft". It is a procedure with enzymes and steam that soften the fabric. The enzymes used in this finishing are proteins. Favoring the process of chemical reactions, increasing the stability and improving the properties of the fabric. Each scarf reacts in different way to this treatment. Subsequently the scarves are put into a tumbler, the drum rotates in various speeds according to the type of fabric, and needs to break the fibers in a gentle way making them even more elastic and soft. The final result is a unique and characteristic matt effect, floating, aged, fresh and wear out. The exclusive finishing is made in a Company from our territory in Como, exclusively for Fumagalli, in the full respect of the environment and rules to use the fixing textiles agents.
