Jacquard ties

It was in the early 19th century, when the first Jacquard loom, named after its inventor, Joseph Marie Jacquard, was made in France.

The mechanism was literally revolutionary because it selected the threads mechanically and no longer by hand: in this way, the weaver could create any design on the fabric completely autonomously, without the need for other assistants.

Over the years, the mechanism behind the Jacquard fabric was perfected more and more until the loom became fully automatic. This weaving method made it possible to create even the most complex patterns on any fabric. Jacquard weaving is immediately recognizable because the pattern is woven directly into the fabric, which prevents it from fading, tarnishing or discoloring over time. And this is how a revolutionary invention survives over time, adapting to the years and the fashions, habits and style of the time.

All jacquard ties are unique models in which each man can find his own expression and personality. Fumagalli 1891, drawing on its historical archive, has created a varied collection of jacquard ties, with original and refined patterns. From paisley motifs to more classic and traditional patterns, from animals to floral patterns, any motif can be declined in a thousand versions using the jacquard technique.
